Google Maps Follow Button Gives You Updates From Real Places

Google Maps has introduced new features in recent months, including a Material Theme redesign and enhanced trip sharing. The latest update brings a new feature to the "For you" tab, allowing users to follow stores and receive updates.
The update introduces a "Follow" button for store listings in Google Maps. Users can receive updates such as events and offers from their favorite locations, including restaurants and retail sites, directly in the "For you" tab. This feature aims to address situations where users miss out on sales or are unaware of new hot spots opening in their area. With millions of people using Google Maps to discover places to go, this update makes it easier to stay informed about the places that matter to them. The Follow button is being rolled out in regions where the For you tab is available, with plans to expand to more countries in the future. Additionally, Google Maps will now display listings for stores that haven't opened yet, with dates highlighted in bold orange. The store cards will include address and website details, and this information will also appear in Google Search's Knowledge Graph cards. Retail locations interested in this feature can create a Business Profile in Google My Business and be listed up to three months in advance of their opening. The rollout of this feature will take place over the next few weeks. As an update on February 20th, the ability to "Follow" businesses is now available on Google Maps for iOS after being initially introduced on Android last October. Users can expect to see a new button in listings that delivers updates, including upcoming events and offers, in the "For you" tab. Google Maps Follow Button Gives You Updates From Real Places
